Privacy
Terminalia privacy
Your server and you. Nobody else. The Terminalia app has no accounts, no analytics and no backend of its own. This page explains, with no fine print, what data the app handles, what the terminalia.dev site receives and where everything goes.
What data the app handles
- The connection profiles you create or import: name, host, port, user, key path, tunnels and SSH options.
- A private key’s passphrase, only if the key has one and you enter it.
- Your app settings and the command palette history.
- Temporary copies of the files you open in the editor.
Where it’s stored
| Data | Location |
|---|---|
| Profiles and settings | ~/Library/Application Support/Terminalia/ |
| Key passphrases | macOS Keychain, service com.aacdev.Terminalia |
| Editor cache | ~/Library/Caches/Terminalia/ |
| Session sockets | ~/Library/Application Support/Terminalia/s/ |
Everything lives on your Mac, in your user account. Deleting the app and those folders removes every trace. The app never modifies your keys or your ~/.ssh/config; only OpenSSH adds a new server’s fingerprint to known_hosts, just like from the terminal.
What leaves your Mac
- SSH traffic to your servers. It’s generated by the system OpenSSH with your configuration. Nothing goes through intermediaries.
- Loading the editor. Monaco is downloaded from the public CDN
cdn.jsdelivr.netwhen you open your first file. That request carries no data of yours beyond what any web download exposes (IP address, user agent). Bundling it into the app is planned.
Nothing else. No update checks, no crash reports, no identifiers.
Website forms
The app sends nothing to Terminalia. The terminalia.dev site does have two forms: feature requests in the Changelog and contact in Support. What you write in them (name, email and message, plus the page it came from) is sent by email through Resend, the email delivery service the site uses, to Agustin Alonso Cantoli, the data controller. It’s used only to reply to you and to decide what to build.
- Legal basis: your consent, which you give by ticking the privacy checkbox when submitting. You can withdraw it at any time.
- It isn’t stored in any site database. The message is kept in the controller’s inbox only as long as needed to handle your request.
- The approximate IP address, browser and date of submission are included with the message to detect abuse. To limit bulk submissions, the IP is also used as a temporary counter that expires after 10 minutes.
- It isn’t used for advertising, isn’t shared with third parties beyond that email provider and is never matched with any app data: the app doesn’t know you wrote to us.
Download counter
Each time you download Terminalia from this site, a total counter goes up by one, per version and per day. It’s anonymous: no cookies, and it doesn’t store your IP address or any other personal data.
Data controller and your rights
The controller of the data submitted through the forms is Agustin Alonso Cantoli. You can get in touch at hola@terminalia.dev.
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to hola@terminalia.dev.
- No accountsNo sign-up and no login.
- No analyticsNo usage, crash or performance tracking.
- No servers of its ownThe app has no backend; the site only receives what you send through the forms.
